Saturday fun..... Not
« on: March 27, 2015, 06:18:17 PM »
A few weeks ago my DD (97 Chevy 350vortec) started misfiring bad which also came with the torque converter not going into lock up. Took off my throttle body and shoved my IPhone down into the intake to take a pic to see what the spider injector assembly looked like and BAM!! The pic showed a real nice clean area on the top side of my lower manifold where fuel was washing the soot. My new style injector assembly is leaking fuel into cylinder 1,3,5 air ports which are the only ones the computer shows misfiring. No SES light though. Kinda took me a bit to figure out the no SES misfire bc I knew that the injector assembly had already been updated at one point but I guess it's life is now over. So half of my Saturday will be spent replacing the assembly as well as every gasket for the intake manifold. Figured I'd take care of other potential problems while I had everything apart. He's a pic off my iPhone from inside my intake, one of the fuel washed side and one of the normal side....

I wish GM would have took the time to have built the Vortec 305/350 fuel injection like the Vortec 454. First time I worked on my 96 350 I said what a pile of junk! All I have ever owned is gm trucks, I guess they is good n bad in all of them. Including all other brands too.
Life is what happens while your busy makeing other plans.
