Hey Gang, my name is Chris i just joined this site in hopes to help with my truck. Its a 98 3500HD dump truck with a not so powerful 6.5. Been working at getting all the problems figured out over the years. Its been a good truck to me overall. I have owned it since 2009.

Welcome Chris !  I too have a dump truck with a not so powerful 7.4 TBI, I thought I wanted a 6.5 dump but my plans to make my 6.5 flatbed a dump were dashed when I found my '94 7.4 with a mere 72000 miles making my 6.5 flatbed a parts truck for now.  I've learned a lot about those 6.5's and I have a K2500 with a 6.5, there's a much better 6.5 available in the re-engineered Navistar blocks but they're not cheap.  I do believe real trucks RATTLE !  When life settles down a bit for me I hope to check out a Cummins swap, there are some guys here who have done just that...

Thanks guys for the welcome, I too am looking at the cummins re power. I have a 24 v that i have tucked away in the corner but i have little fab skils to make this kinda project happen. I do have a 97 1 ton which i had replaced the 6.5 block with a navastar block, ted trucks motor's. That truck runs really good. I started with 6.5's but now i have duramax's and international dt466 and i am used to the power of those now!
