Front spring alternative?
« on: November 19, 2016, 03:45:12 PM »
Anyone ever swapped the rear springs from say a 2500 GMT400 in place of the front springs on a 3500HD?  The rears are specd at 30 inches and front HD is 28.

Wondering because I have a 2500 parts truck.

The rears of a 90s k2500 are 32 inches long and are specd at 2,200lbs when the second stage is contacted. The front HD springs are 28.5" long and specd at 1,600 lbs from the get go since both are constantly in contact. So lb per lb the front HD springs are stronger
