Something else to think about is brakes. I find the brakes a bit sub par when I've got firewood on the back. I plan on putting the wrecker spec dual piston calipers on the rear. As for the front, I finally found a company that makes aftermarket big brake kits for the Dana 60 front which would also work with these Dana 70 fronts. They make a new brake bracket that accepts '08 dodge dual piston calipers and a 13.9" rotor. Once the snow goes away I plan on doing this upgrade. Something to think about when building these front axles

The brake upgrade is made by "Torq Motorsports". Their website is under construction right now though. So I emailed them and got a hold of a guy named Jared who sent me some pics and info. $245 for the backets and then the cost of the caliper, rotor, and pads you can just get at Napa. The pic of the bracket is a Gen 1 bracket, the bracket they now sell is even more beefy, some if not all of it made from 1/2" steel. Jareds email: jared@torqaxle.com

Perfect, thank you! Found them on Facebook, looks like a lot of high end stuff going on there.

Without physically seeing the hub, it's hard to understand what's going on. I'll look into those brakes, tho that is a good upgrade!!! Can't ever have too much stopping power lol....

Just found out Northwest fab is making a one piece billet caliper bracket for the 2010+ Dodge brake conversion. $389 a pair.

Sooo this must mean that just the 2010+ caliper would be used on an earlier rotor? I think around 2010 the bolt pattern is larger.

Not sure, I believe that's what I read on their Facebook post as it's not on the site yet.
