New member needs help

I have been looking for a truck to pull a camper for work, so I contacted my dad the other day, and he told me about an older gentleman that has a 1994 3500HD with the 6.5TD and an auto transmission with 34,000 original miles on it that the man has installed a Western hauler bed on, and it already has the 5th wheel and gooseneck provisions installed. The man used it to pull a camper, but is 86 years old now and has sold his camper. My dad informed me that it is in incredible shape and that he wants $5,500 for it. Sight unseen, is this a good price for a truck like this? I don't know what they typically go for, so I figured I would ask the people of this forum.

Probably paid close to that for the bed, depending what model it is. Either way, it sounds fair if it's clean.

I'm no fan of that 6.5TD but they do well for some people.

A truck that old with that few miles can be a mixed bag when it comes to condition.  It could very well be an extremely nice truck.  You've got your dad there able to see it, so that's a plus.

I'd be a little worried about crud growing in the fuel tank(s) so a good cleaning may be in order with appropriate diesel treatments.  That's a lot of sitting to have so few miles.
