This truck is my first endeavor into a 3500HD, but I have owned four other GMT400 trucks so I am pretty familiar with them. I saw this truck sitting in the same spot for several years at a local junkyard, and after selling the owner my 94 6.5 truck I broke the ice. Ultimately I ended up trading a $200 laptop for this truck as it sits. This truck came in with not a thing wrong or missing back in 2007, a landscape company purchased it and the bed they tried mounting was too heavy for this truck somehow so they replaced it with an F-650.

I have wanted an HD for a long time, and I hardly ever see them, and I have never seen another crew cab in person. This thing is pretty stripped so I need to do a full on rebuild. It had a 6.5/4l80e with 5.13 rear gears and my plan is to find a 96-00 Suburban with a 454 so I can have a vortec big block, as well as use all of the interior and harnesses. Wouldn't be opposed to a 12v swap either but everyone wants 4k alone for a P-Pump engine around here.

Plan is to make it a beefy dually truck with a pickup bed and 2015+ tow mirrors. I would love to have a 4x4 conversion but I want to haul goosenecks and 5th wheels so it needs to be low.

Traded the Early 2008 15" MacBook Pro for that truck.

Gavin

That body is in great shape..no rust at all.  Always thought that if I had crew cab I would convert the back into a tool box or bed for long trips..not much leg sleeping room but better than the drivers seat!

Welcome to the site...I'm sure the guys will jump in shortly.

Here are a couple of pictures of my latest 3500HD, 95 chassis, 94 cab, 350TPI engine, NV4500 tranny. Just painted the dump bed a couple days ago and will install a pressure treated deck next week. I like the narrow axle so I can use a narrow bed and small mirrors.

I'm jealous! I'd love to have a crew cab HD. 12v would be nice, power and decent fuel mileage.
