4l85e auto trans either needs to be rebuilt as a 4x4, or have the uncommon adapter the used back in the day to put a tcase on the 2wd stock trans, or divorce mount a np205. I'd go for the most stock option and have the trans built as a 4wd but keep in mind it is a "4L85e" and not the regular "4L80e" when looking for parts.

If going "stock style" then a BW4470 tcase with park brake drum is used as well as for the uncommon tcase mount. Again Leaving your trans 2wd you can find a divorce mount np205. You'll also need the floor shifter for operating your tcase. Most likely you'll be better of finding a bw4470 already with a park brake but if you find the park brake setup and build it onto a bw4470, make sure it's an early bw4470 with both front and rear output flange yokes.

Two new drive shafts. Rear can be a regular slip joint driveshaft with regular yokes, tcase yoke output angle and rear axle yoke must be within 1* parallel of each other or you with get vibration.

Front axle, preferably a Dana 70 front 10 lug drivers side drop. Other axles and be used but this axle was meant for this truck, and they can be hard to find.

Spring setup. Stock leaf springs front and rear, just need to decide if spring over or spring under. Spring under is more difficult, need to really clearance the engine crossmember extend the rear perches on the front spring a few inches and roughly 3" rear lift blocks. Spring over is easier and 5.5" rear lift blocks for a stock style stance. Of course alll new u bolts which because of their length and diameter will run about $200+

Stock brake lines will work, no more abs unless you have tone rings installed on new front axle. Reconfigure front sway bar mount. New bump stop perches front and rear so you don't over extend your leafs with all the extra room. New shock mounts to maintain factory shocks. Might need to figure out a good steering set up like a High Steer including new pitman arm. Will need to reconfigure and track bar mount for front axle. Might need to move trans crossmember.

Here to help in any way I can

That t case will work, just needs a e brake set up.

Without seeing pics of these 8 lug Dana 70s you are questioning, I'd say they are early models from the 1970s which have closed knuckles unlike the open knuckle axles most commonly used in swaps. But I could be wrong and you might've found a rare open knuckle 70 with a 8 lug hub which would work.

Sometimes I look to see how much matching axle sets from f450 and f550s go for, good Dana candidates. Better off getting a set to keep the hubs matched. Much easier to find than the GM spec Dana 70. Just some fab work to make them fit
