Carrier bearing question 2000 C3500HD
« on: October 06, 2018, 05:05:57 PM »
I have a 2000 6.5 utility body. One day on the highway I got a bunch of vibration and seen my carrier bearing had blown out. I put a new bearing in but I'm getting a vibration that was never there until the thing went out. I'm trying to make sure I have it installed properly before going after other things. If someone can shoot a pic looking at the front part of the shaft going into the carrier bearing that would help. Not the side with the boot. I slid the bearing back until it seemed snug. Not sure if it needs to go back another inch. Also there has been some debate as to if the silver piece on the drive shaft is part of a old bearing and needs removed or if it is part of the shaft. I think it's part of the shaft. Thanks for the help.
