Part number rear pinion seal? 1995 3500HD Spicer 80?
« on: May 02, 2019, 04:12:35 PM »
Need to replace the pinion seal on my 1995 3500HD chassis, originally it was a diesel SWB cab chassis.  I assume it's a 11" Spicer 80 but only see listings for 10.5" differentials all with 14 bolt covers.  This one has a 10 bolt cover.

Just need the pinion seal part number before I take it apart.  Only found the part number for the 10 bolt cover so far.

Thanks

Yeah, Dana/spicer 80 11.25” ring gear with 10 bolt cover. Gm Dana 80 built different from other Dana 80s I believe an extra two splines with the larger diameter shaft. Parts may not interchange. Was always told that 75w140 was for constant heavy towing, the 140 was meant for the heat. For normal use with occasional towing 75w90. Although these trucks might have come with 75w140 originally.

Due to recent budget cuts the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off

Thanks...ordered the parts online from Advance...the good news is that I finally will know exactly which gear ratio it has once the cover is removed.  Need to calibrate the DRAC so the speedometer is accurate.
