I've dug up some more pictures from the build.

This is the Raptor bed liner installed on the floor

Here's the guage panel and guages. I used the Auto Meter angling cups to turn all the guages twards me, looks pretty sweet from the side. The heater and headlight switches are mounted in here also.

The 4" downpipe before the new inner fender went on

And an overview of the engine compartment during reassembly

The IC pipe from the intercooler to the engine, checking fit.

Plans now are to bring this thing down 4" and give it a better looking paint color, but I won't mention what scheme until I have pics of it.

And after 740 miles, I'm averaging 12mpg loaded and empty, lots of mixed driving and 20 minutes to warm up everyday. I'm debating going toa 3.55 gear, and I think my K&N might be a little too small/restrictive.

I think next step tho, is an interior make-over. I need some carpet and a bench seat, cause I'm freezing my A$$ off in this thing.

Very clean and professional looking job! How did you apply the bed liner?

Thanks Ed!

I applied the liner with the gun supplied in the kit. They call it "spray" but it's more of a "glob"  :D

I highly recommend the stuff, it comes in a kit with gun, hardener and 4 bottles of liner.

Google UPOL Raptor and you'll find tons of good stuff on it.

Nope, it sits about an inch higher than my other Cummins conversion in a regular 3500. I have about 5/8" of clearance around the bell housing to the cab.

Done some tinkering with the truck today. I went over some loose ends and started fitting my new front porch   :D

I'm going to straighten it up a bit, replace the diamond plate on top and add in some bracing underneath for pushing duty.

Small update.

I've got myself a plow set up for this truck now, so the winch bumper idea has been scrapped, and a GM bumper will go back on when I get the plow mounted. It's also time to find a good set of winter tires.

I'm also going to use a '98 interior to update the inside of the cab. I'll be redoing my gauges at that time for a much cleaner- closer to factory look. I just have to wait on the donor truck to die so I can strip it down  ;D

I'm still undecided about the new paint job, and with the donor truck dying I'll have a mint grille to replace my dried out- busted up unit.

Things are going to slow down even more for it though, as I'm working on buying my first house and I'll be picking up a trailer project tomorrow. So it's looking like a very busy summer!

Raymo, did you ever mount the winch bumper ?  I picked up that same bumper for a K5 project that I never used and I was considering it for my 3500HD, especially since I'm a single axle and I'll use the truck on my sandy woodlot.  Do you know if a decent recovery winch will fit the bumper ?  Assuming the fabrication of solid frame mounts do you think the bumper is strong enough to extract a loaded 3500HD ?

I did run that bumper for a little bit, but it was ugly, as as you wondered, wasn't up to any real task. I'm assuming it might be good for about an 8,000lb winch, but that would be maxing it out damn near empty.

Maybe my bumper is built or modified to be different from yours? I know it has held up to a 12k Ramsey winch and many pushing endeavors over the past 7 years without taking any damage. It isn't pretty, but it sure makes a nice place to stand when messing around under the hood. I've also switched to just running 4 load range H 245's for winter time to make a big difference in winter traction. Function over form seems to work well for my needs.

Very possible, as ours are spec's for older, lighter trucks.

I did build my own version of front end protection that's integrated with my plow set up now, not as ugly and slightly less awkward  ;D
