1996 3/4 ton 4x4 astro van
« on: January 24, 2011, 12:11:01 AM »
here is my current project when i am not keeping my 90 3500 on the road:

winter has kinda stalled things because i am working on it in the driveway.  the van is too tall by a couple inches to get into to the garage.

quick rundown:

54" S10 rear leafs up front with 3 more leafs added
1 ton rear spring pack
8 lug 10 bolt 3/4 ton front axle
full floater 14 bolt rear with disc brakes.  3.73 gears
350/700r4/np208

i am at the point where i need to start getting linkages set up, rear driveshaft made, plumb brake and fuel lines, etc...

i am going to run 245/75/16 wrangler HT's all around and the van will be used for fun stuff like running over small cars that get in my way, pulling our boat to the lake, keeping my little rust free sonoma off the road in the winter.  the van is nice and clean too but i have it set up where the whole setup can be swapped into another astro body in a day when this one rusts out in 10 or so years.

I'd completely forgotten about your 4x4 Astro project!  Every time I see it though it makes me smile. :D
