Yep...I'm a new guy. Just bought a 2000 GMC HD. 454, 5 speed manual, mid wb, 2wd, plain Jane, arctic white with a grey interior. I love this thing. It purrs like a milk fed kitten. It was an old Verizon fleet truck, had a bucket on it, so it has a very cool 360' spotlight on the roof. An old timer drove it since new and it is amazingly clean for the state of Maine. The ride is smoother then my C2500, with the understanding of the stiffness of the spring stack. I really feel I got a great deal at just under 2k. Maine DMV wants a DOT # on it,as it is registered over 10k. Am I to assume I can go almost up to 26,001 on the overall GVW? I have a class A and you'd think I'd know this but I usually don't try to haul a 53 ft trailer with a pickup, so I don't quite know. Anyways, awesome forum!!

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like a really great deal on that 3500HD and the better combo 454/NV4500 ;D

As you probably know...CDL over 26,000 GVW....

a little late but I have mine registered for 26k just incase I get run through the scales..  with the right front spring pack I have seen these rigs run 18k lbs loaded (truck only) every day they are a good setup and the 454 and nv4500 is a great combo..
