Hi all,
I'm new to the HD trucks but am building a tow vehicle for our Bonneville salt car. I am Houston Texas based, but actually working and living in Norway now so this will be a slow project...sorry about that...its going to be a bit of a bastard. Body is a '69 Chevy 3 door suburban, hopefully sitting on a '95-'96 3500HD frame powered by a early 12v Cummins(rotary) and NV4500 5spd. I dont need the crazy bed capacity you guys have but want the huge brakes, heavy duty front suspension that can handle the CUmmins and the 19.5 commercial wheels/tires are a plus. I will actually have to narrow my wheel tubs about 2.5-3" on the inside for the narrow track of the cab/chassis , but I like not having a full dually fender actually sticking out so far...still comtemplating on what jto do on that, maybe just some flares are enough. ...anywho , i'll be asking about rear gear ratios in about 3...2...1...

Welcome Hans,

Sounds like a really cool project!  (The only way it could be cooler is if it was the '60-'66 Suburban body!) ;D

Can't wait to see some pics and progress.

By the way Hans have you and I spoken before in the past regarding parts?  Have a friend named Claus that may have bought some items from me a couple years back?  I used to run a truck salvage over in the Aldine area.
