Swap Help
« on: May 18, 2013, 10:49:04 AM »

Hello, new to this forum, hopefully I can get some input. I have a 98 C3500HD that was formerly a 6.5 diesel/5 speed. It now has a crudely installed 305 gas motor with a 2 bbl carb. I have a wrecked 95 c1500 automatic truck that is complete. I would like to swap in the injected 5.7 but need to know what compatibility issues I will have with harnesses. I can use the complete harness from the 95 but it is an auto, will that harness and ECU work? Any help or suggestions would be great!

Thanks again

I would recommend restoring it to a 6.5L 5spd, but I really like the 6.5L, some folks dont.
