Perportioning Valve??
« on: November 04, 2013, 08:32:24 PM »
Hey guys my new to me 98HD has something missing. This truck was a rollback. It don't have the rear perportioning valve for the brakes. How important is this? I have the one I took off my 94 I had, I could put back in place. I plan on putting a flat dump bed on it and pulling a 4000 lb trailer and a 8000lb mini excavator. Anyone know any reason why this would be gone? or mabey it didn't come with it?

I don't believe they all came with the load-sensing rear valve, but I don't have any hard proof.

Of course you still have the regular proportioning valve, which is built into the 4WAL ABS controller from 1995-up; earlier models of course still had the external combination valve right by the RWAL ABS unit.

Yeah you prob right, it may not have come with one. I didn't think about the abs module having it built in. Thanks for the insight.
